Paid parental leave is finally making its way into the mainstream, and, as of Jan. 27, 2020, late night TV is now on that list. Samantha Bee, an American-Canadian comedian, mom of three and host of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, announced she’ll be offering her employees the most extensive family leave in the industry.
All staff members of the TBS show will be offered an incredible 20 weeks of fully-paid family leave and, even better, Samantha challenged other late night shows to beat it. The leave extends to mothers or primary caregivers.
“Full Frontal is now offering our employees the best-paid family leave policy in all of late night,” Samantha said in a video posted to Twitter and Instagram. “This kind of policy isn’t mandated by the government, but it should be! Having a baby without going broke should be possible for all workers.”
