5 Tips For Men To Succeed With Online Dating

You finally decide to try online dating but you’re worried about putting yourself and aspects of your life in some kind of peril. Well, despite the dangers out there, online dating can be as safe as traditional dating if you follow a few tips provided by DatingThrone.com

1) Don’t Spill Your Beans

Online daters are the ultimate strangers, yet deep connections can be made through two screens. When this happens, it is easy to spill the beans about too much of your life too quickly, and this should be a no-no.

Keep the details about your life private until this online affair develops into a trusting and in-person relationship. If not, you may be divulging damaging secrets to someone with not the best intentions.

2) Tell Your Friends and Family

Friends and family always want to know when you’re starting up with someone. Don’t keep them in the dark about an online affair, especially when it looks like it’s leading to a face-face encounter.

People also need to know when you are about to meet your new online fling because it will help them keep you safe in the event of a negative incident. This does not mean they need to be privy to every little detail, just enough to be able to act if necessary.

3) Have a Preset Itinerary

You don’t need to suck the fun out of your first online date meetup with a regimented itinerary, however you need some preset points if you really want to be safe.

Let’s face it, if the online relationship is any good at all, it can handle an itinerary for the first meetup, because there will be a second. Having an itinerary does not mean having a rigid schedule. You can plan your itinerary with lots of flexibility.

For instance, you can plan for drinks at Candy’s at 7:00 pm, then dinner at Spondy’s at 9:00 pm. This does not mean you can’t go for drinks at Kiko’s at 8:00pm just because it’s not on the itinerary.

Give this itinerary to friends and/or family and contact them when you hit one of the times and points. It’s an easy and discreet way to be safe on date number one of what you hope to be many.

4) Meet in a Public Place

The movies usually get this right whenever there is potential for danger. Drug swaps, confession tape deals, and first-time meetups for online daters should always happen in a public place.

It seems obvious, but keep in mind that a public place is not simply in public. You can meet someone in public and there is no one else around except for you and a possible creep. For example, the middle of an unpopulated desert is a public place, but you wouldn’t want to meet your new friend there.

If it is time to play show-and-tell, then make sure the designated place is one where there are a lot of people around. Also, be sure the meetup is at a time WHEN people are usually at this spot. Don’t show up to the mall at 5:30 am.

5) Always Have an Out

The movies got this one right too. All of the best of the best criminals, lovers, businessmen, sports stars, rock stars etc always made sure they had an out of the situations they found themselves in on the silver screen. You too should have an exit plan for your date, because you never know when things might go wrong (or right).

The public place you choose should be one you can easily get away from alone without the aid of your date. Until you trust your new love, don’t go places where you are dependent upon them for a ride. If anything goes down, you need to be able to leave.

The converse holds true as well. Don’t go somewhere where your date is ultimately dependent upon you for transportation. You don’t want to leave someone stranded and you don’t want to have to drive a bad date home or to the nearest bus stop.

Online dating is now an integral part of our society because it has proven to be a safe and effective way to meet people. Many online daters go on to become face-to-face couples with enriching relationships and many of them end up getting married and starting families.

However, this is not always true. No matter how safe online dating is, you’re never guaranteed a love connection when you go on a date.
